Within the scope of a research project, a two-stage multi-cyclone “prototype” was developed with a high separation rate. In a comparison test with different cyclone variants, the two-stage “prototype” demonstrated the best retention rate but was expensive to maintain. By comparison, an optimized standard unit proved to be much more economical with greater efficiency.
